Our Medicaid-covered therapy services
Child therapy
If your kiddo is struggling, you're not alone—and neither are they. Our child therapists meet kids in the language they actually speak: play. Through our signature 12-session model, kids work with a therapist while parents stay involved every step of the way, so you can learn how to best support your little one even when our work together ends.
Play therapy
Play therapy is at the heart of how we work with children. Our therapists are trained in specialized modalities like Child-Centered Play Therapy and Synergetic Play Therapy, and our space is thoughtfully designed to support this work. Through play, kids process big feelings, build regulation, and start to feel safe in their bodies again.
Family therapy
Kids don't heal in a vacuum. Our family therapy work focuses on the system as a whole, helping you and your kiddo move from a place of frustration and disconnect to attunement and repair. We see behavior as communication, and we help families learn how to meaningfully show up for themselves and each other.
Teen therapy
Adolescence is intense, and so are the feelings that come with it. Our teen therapists offer a space where teens can be exactly who they are without being managed, fixed, or judged. While we draw on evidence-based approaches, we also prioritize forging a genuine connection so teens actually want to come back.
Adult therapy
Whether you're a parent who's running on fumes, an adult navigating depression or anxiety, or someone in a season of transition, we see you. Our adult therapy work draws on attachment-based, trauma-informed, and somatic approaches, and we’re especially passionate about supporting parents and Highly Sensitive People.
What sets our practice apart from other Denver Medicaid therapy providers
We specialize in highly sensitive kids. We understand the particular gifts and challenges that deeply feeling people face, and we know how to support them.
Our signature "Tuned In" approach integrates attachment science, nervous system regulation, and play-based therapy.
Our 12-session child therapy model weaves in parent involvement from the start to drive change at home instead of just in session.
Our team is highly trained, deeply collaborative, and genuinely invested in your family’s well-being.
Our spaces are warm and intentional. We want you and your kiddo to feel at home the moment you walk in.
We accept Medicaid at no additional cost, because high-quality, specialized care shouldn't be reserved for those who can pay out of pocket.
We don't pathologize sensitivity, big emotions, or challenging behaviors; we get curious about the “why” underneath.
How to use your Medicaid benefits for therapy
We understand that the thought of navigating insurance red tape can feel overwhelming, especially when your family may already feel stretched thin. Our goal is to make the process as straightforward as possible.
Confirm that your Medicaid coverage is active. You can double-check your coverage by calling the number on the back of your member ID card.
Reach out for a free 15-minute consultation. Call or fill out our contact form, and our intake team will get back to you quickly to learn a little about what you're looking for.
Get matched with the right therapist. Our intake coordinator, Allen, will help you find a clinician whose specialty, style, and availability are a good fit for you or your kiddo.
Show up to your first session. We bill Medicaid directly, and there are no out-of-pocket costs for covered services.
If anything feels confusing along the way, we're a phone call or email away. You don't have to figure this out alone.
FAQs about therapy
-
Yes, Medicaid covers therapy. In Colorado, Health First Colorado (the state's Medicaid program) includes mental and behavioral health services as a covered benefit. That typically means individual therapy, family therapy, and play therapy with licensed providers are all included. However, we’re always happy to help you double-check and understand your benefits.
-
Medicaid coverage in Colorado is generally based on medical necessity rather than a set number of sessions. In other words, as long as therapy is helping you or your kiddo make meaningful progress, sessions can keep going. Some plans require periodic reauthorization, but most of our clients receive ongoing therapy without interruption. We will always keep you informed about any insurance-related changes that may impact your family’s care.
-
If you have another insurance carrier, we may still be able to help. We accept several major insurance plans in Colorado, and you may also be able to use out-of-network OON benefits to be reimbursed for a portion of your care. Feel free to connect with us if you have any questions about payment options.
