Alena Brocker, MSW, CSWC | Therapist (Denver, CO)
Alena approaches her work through a strengths-based, client-centered lens, rooted in the belief that children are resilient and capable of experiencing and expressing authentic emotions. She brings warmth, curiosity, and a nonjudgmental presence to her relationships with children and caregivers, fostering a collaborative environment built on trust and mutual respect. Alena is committed to honoring each child’s autonomy and supporting their capacity for self-direction and growth.
With a background in dance and movement, Alena has spent years engaging with children as a creative movement instructor, yoga teacher, and nature-based educator. In her clinical work, she primarily uses non-directive play therapy and Synergetic Play Therapy to support children in exploring their emotions and building inner resilience. Alena also draws from creative arts therapies, mindfulness practices, and has training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and child-centered play therapy. Her approach is flexible and responsive, grounded in deep attunement to each child’s unique needs and developmental stage.
Alena holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a concentration in child development and education from SUNY Purchase, and a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Smith College School for Social Work. She deeply values the role of play as a child’s natural language and believes in entering their world with empathy, creativity, and respect for their inner wisdom.
