I’m passionate about supporting little ones with ADHD and fostering a supportive child-parent relationship using play, creativity, and developmentally attuned strategies. I bring a sense of curiosity and playfulness to this work, meeting your child where they’re at and celebrating their uniqueness.

Heather Stanley, MA, LPCC, NCC

Good fit for kids and teens who need concrete skill-building

Hi, I'm Heather. After more than a decade in schools and clinical settings, I've watched how ADHD can erode a kid's self-trust through things like missed homework, meltdowns, and struggles in peer relationships. My approach to therapy is structured yet creative, offering children and teens tangible tools they can start using right away while also adapting the work to their specific needs and goals.

  • Credentials: Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate #LPCC.0021214

  • Specialty Areas: Neurodiverdence, anxiety, trauma

Good fit for older kids, teens, and adults with ADHD

Hi, I'm Elana. I have a broad clinical background across wilderness therapy, IOP programs, and in-home family work. My diverse experience has fostered a passion for supporting folks across the lifespan, including kids, teens, and adults, and I especially enjoy helping people with ADHD build skills that can help them thrive in their daily lives. I'm especially drawn to highly sensitive folks, so if you notice that big emotions and sensory issues are part of your or your child’s ADHD, I’m here to help.

Bari Agnes, MA, LPCC

Good fit for children with complex, trauma-layered, or higher-needs ADHD presentations

Hi, I'm Bari. Before Rooted Rhythm, I worked at Children's Hospital Colorado and Mount Saint Vincent supporting kids through some of their hardest moments, including crisis, emotional dysregulation, and the kinds of ADHD presentations that often come tangled up with trauma, oppositional behaviors, or overwhelming thoughts. I bring that depth of experience into the therapy space, where I use play therapy and parent consultation to meet children where they are and support change at home.

  • Credentials: Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate

  • Specialty Areas: ADHD, depression, oppositional behaviors, emotional regulation challenges, trauma

  • Availability: Virtual in Colorado Springs

Madeline Hulbert, MSW, LSW

Good fit for neurodivergent kids and teens whose ADHD overlaps with trauma or anxiety

Hi, I'm Madeline. My graduate work focused specifically on the intersection of mental health and trauma, and that's where my heart is: supporting neurodivergent kids and teens whose ADHD shows up layered with anxiety, dysregulation, or behavioral struggles. I've worked across schools, residential programs, clinics, and community settings, which means I've seen ADHD from a lot of angles and am here to help your child, too.

What sets our practice apart from other Colorado Springs ADHD treatment providers

  • A nervous system and attachment-based lens, not a behavioral checklist. We see ADHD as a different way of being wired, not a defect to “manage.” Our work starts with helping your child (or you) feel regulated and safe to lay the foundation for real growth.

  • Parents are central to the work. Most child and teen therapists keep parents at arm's length. We don't. Our model integrates parent coaching and family system work because we know lasting change happens at home, not just in the therapy room.

  • A specialized lens for highly sensitive kids. Many children with ADHD are also highly sensitive, and that combination is often missed or misdiagnosed. Our founder literally wrote the book on it.

  • Every client gets free access to our TUNED IN Parenting course. A 10-module program designed specifically for parents of sensitive, neurodiverse, and gifted children—yours to keep, at your own pace.

  • No waitlist. We can typically get your family started within a week or two of your first call.

  • Insurance accepted. We're in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Aetna, and Medicaid in Colorado, with a quality care model that supports small caseloads and personalized care.

  • A team that's supported, too. Our clinicians receive ongoing training, supervision, and mentorship, which means you get a therapist who is grounded, resourced, and able to show up fully for your family.

FAQs about ADHD therapy

  • ADHD can look different from kid to kid, but some common signs include:

    • Difficulty sustaining attention on non-preferred tasks

    • Frequent forgetfulness, lost items, or missed steps in routines

    • Restlessness, fidgeting, or trouble sitting still

    • Impulsive choices, blurting out, or interrupting often

    • Big emotional reactions and difficulty self-regulating

    • Trouble with transitions, time, or follow-through

If several of these patterns resonate, contact us for a free consultation to get started. Your little one doesn’t need a formal diagnosis to get started.

  • Adult ADHD is often missed for years, especially in women and highly sensitive people. Some signs include:

    • Chronic difficulty starting or finishing tasks

    • Feeling mentally overwhelmed, scattered, or behind most days

    • Trouble with time, deadlines, or follow-through

    • Emotional sensitivity or rejection sensitivity

    • Hyperfocus on certain interests at the expense of others

    • A lifelong sense of "I should be able to do this more easily"

ADHD can also overlap with anxiety, autism spectrum disorder, and other challenges. Working with a therapist can help you untangle what’s showing up for you.

  • Our team supports clients from age 2 through adulthood, with a deep specialization in children, teens, and families. We also offer parent coaching, as well as ketamine-assisted therapy where it's clinically appropriate. If you're not sure who's the right fit, our intake team will help you figure it out.

  • Therapy for ADHD goes well beyond symptom management alone. We help children, teens, and adults build emotional regulation skills, strengthen executive functioning, repair self-esteem, and feel more at home in their own brains. For kids, we also coach parents alongside their children, because the family environment is where these new skills actually get practiced and reinforced day to day.

  • We don't currently provide formal psychological evaluations or diagnostic testing for ADHD. If you'd like testing, we're happy to refer you to a trusted local evaluator we know and respect. However, you don’t necessarily need a diagnosis to start therapy. We can help point you in the right direction.

  • That's a personal decision best made in conversation with a prescriber and a therapist. Therapy can be deeply effective on its own, especially for skill-building and emotional regulation. Medication is sometimes a helpful piece of the puzzle, too. Your therapist can help you make sense of which tools may be most effective for you.

  • Yes, ADHD therapy is often covered by insurance. We're in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Aetna, and Medicaid in Colorado. We also offer a monthly quality care fee that supports between-session communication, parent guidance, and a more personalized therapy experience. We're happy to walk you through pricing during your free consultation.
