7 weekly groups

75 minutes each, live on Zoom, Fridays at 9:30 am MT.

Preparation

A required 3 hour group session with the licensed facilitation team.

Psilocybin session

A 6 to 8 hour supervised administration session at the licensed healing center.

Integration

Sunday integration, plus two follow up sessions in March.

The child brings you in. The work becomes your own.

Most parents come to this work with a question about their child. Why does she fall apart after school. Why does he feel everything so intensely. Why is bedtime so hard.

Somewhere in the middle of answering those questions, a second set arrives. What is getting activated in me. What am I carrying from my own childhood. What do I want to do differently in my family.

This program holds both. Seven weeks of teaching and practice on the nervous system, connection, and what is actually driving behavior at home, alongside sustained attention to your own regulation, your own patterns, and your own history. In week five, once the group has built trust and a shared language, that work continues in a weekend of preparation, a licensed psilocybin administration session, and integration.

Who this is for

Parents and caregivers who want to understand what is underneath their child's behavior, build a shared language for regulation at home, and look honestly at what their own upbringing installed in them. No particular parenting philosophy or prior coursework required.

What it is not

This is not psychotherapy, and it is not a substitute for your child's care. The weekly groups are education and group support led by Rooted Rhythm. The psilocybin services are provided separately by licensed facilitators at Sangam Healing Center, under Colorado's regulated natural medicine program.

The part nobody schedules time for

What parents carry

You can learn every regulation tool there is and still lie awake at two in the morning. The weekend exists because the harder material is usually not about technique. It is the worry, the doubt, and the moments that keep replaying, and most parents never get uninterrupted time with any of it.

The worry that will not switch off

Running the list of everything that could go wrong, long after everyone else is asleep.

Fear for their safety

The specific dread that you will miss something, or already have.

Moments you keep replaying

The night you yelled. The thing you said. The look on their face.

Doubting yourself constantly

The sense that everyone else got a manual, and that you are somehow doing this wrong.

Reactions that surprise you

The anger, or the shutting down, that arrives faster than you can think your way out of.

What you inherited

Recognizing your own parent in your voice, in a moment you did not choose.

Preparation, the administration session, and integration are designed to give this material room, with facilitation the whole way through. Individual experiences and outcomes vary and are not guaranteed. This is not treatment for a diagnosed condition, and whether it is appropriate for you is determined through individualized screening.

The weekly groups

Seven Fridays, 75 minutes each

Live on Zoom, Fridays from 9:30 to 10:45 am Mountain Time. Each session pairs core teaching from the Tuned In book and parenting course with practice you can use that week, and time as a group. Sessions follow the seven chapters of the book.

  1. Understanding your child

What is actually happening underneath the behavior you see, and what changes once you can name it in your own home. January 15.

  2. Understanding the body and brain

Nervous system states, the window of tolerance, and the cumulative load your child carries by dinnertime. Your own states, tracked alongside theirs. January 22.

  3. Parenting that connects

Co-regulation, attunement, and repair after rupture. What connection looks like on an ordinary Tuesday, not an ideal one. January 29.

  4. Your child's inner world

Shame, self-talk, and the story a child quietly builds about who they are. February 5.

  5. The power of boundaries

Loving boundaries, and why holding one is harder when your own childhood taught you that limits cost you love. Held the same week as the psilocybin weekend. February 12.

  6. Conscious co-parenting

Working across two nervous systems and two histories. The first session after the weekend. February 19.

  7. Building sustainable family patterns

What you carry forward, in rhythms your family can actually keep. The group's closing session. February 26.

February 12 to 14, 2027, Presidents Day weekend

The psilocybin weekend at Sangam Healing Center

By week five the group has built trust and a shared language for regulation and for the patterns each parent is carrying. The weekend meets you there. Psilocybin services are provided by licensed facilitators at Sangam's licensed location in Lakewood, Colorado, following individualized screening and preparation. Attendance is limited to participants who complete screening and are accepted. Learn about Sangam.

To start, email Sophie at sophie@rootedrhythm.com with a few sentences describing your interest, and she will connect back with you to set up a consultation.

Friday evening

Preparation, 3 hours

Required group preparation with the licensed facilitation team. Intentions, what to expect, agreements, and what support looks like during and after the session.

Saturday

Psilocybin administration session, 6 to 8 hours

A supervised group session at the licensed healing center, held by the facilitation team for the full duration. Natural medicine is obtained through Colorado's regulated system and administered under licensed supervision.

Sunday

Integration, 3 hours

Integration with the facilitation team and with Sophie, connecting what came up to the parenting work the group has been building since January.

Two follow up sessions

Integration does not end on Sunday. The cohort reconvenes twice on Zoom after the program closes, on March 12 and March 26, 2027, from 9:30 to 10:45 am MT. These sessions are included in the program fee.

They exist because the month after is usually when the real questions arrive, and because a group that has been together since January is the right place to bring them.

Who you will be working with

Two practitioners, two clearly separate roles

Sophie Schauermann

Sophie Schauermann, MSW, LCSW

Founder and CEO, Rooted Rhythm · Leads the weekly groups

Sophie founded Rooted Rhythm in 2019 on a simple belief: children deserve mental health care designed for who they are, not a smaller version of adult therapy. She studied child development and clinical psychology at Tufts University and completed her Master of Social Work at the University of Denver. What began as one rented office two days a week is now a practice of many clinicians across Colorado, Texas, Georgia, and New Jersey.

She is the founder of the Tuned In Institute and the author of the Tuned In books, and this curriculum comes directly from that work. Sophie is also a stepmother and a mother, which is part of why the parent facing side of this program is as honest as it is. She leads all seven weekly groups, takes part in Sunday integration, and holds the two follow up sessions.

Sophie provides education and group support in this program. She does not provide psilocybin services. Full bio

Eligibility and screening

Every participant is screened individually before being accepted. Eligibility is determined through that screening, which includes review of medical history, current medications, and mental health history by the licensed facilitation team.

The first step is a note. Email Sophie at sophie@rootedrhythm.com with a few sentences describing your interest, and she will connect back with you to set up a consultation.

Requirements

You must be 21 years of age or older. You must complete screening with Sangam Healing Center and be accepted before enrolling in the weekend. You must be able to attend the full weekend in person in Colorado.

Risks

Psilocybin involves medical and psychological risks and is not appropriate for everyone. Certain medications and health conditions make participation inappropriate. Screening is how that determination is made, individually, before acceptance.

Coming from out of state

The weekly groups are virtual, so participants outside Colorado are welcome. The weekend is in person in Lakewood. Plan to arrive Friday afternoon and depart Monday. Presidents Day falls the day after integration, so you have an unhurried travel day before the week starts again. You will not be able to drive on Saturday, so arrange lodging nearby and transportation in advance. Sangam keeps a travel guide for visiting participants.

If the weekend is not right for you

If screening determines that participation is not appropriate, or if you decide it is not for you, tell us before enrolling. We will talk with you about other Rooted Rhythm options for the parenting work.

Questions parents ask

Do I need to be a Rooted Rhythm client?

No. Rooted Rhythm families hear about the cohort first, and the program is open to any adult who is doing this kind of parenting and personal work.

What if I have never done anything like this before?

Most participants have not. Four weeks of group work come before the weekend, and required preparation happens the evening before the administration session. Preparation is designed to support you in knowing what to expect.

Can my partner join?

Yes, and co-parents attending together often get a great deal from week six. Each person enrolls, is screened, and pays separately.

Is this psychotherapy?

No. The weekly groups are education and group support. Psilocybin services are provided separately by licensed facilitators at Sangam Healing Center. Neither replaces individual therapy.

What outcomes should I expect?

Individual experiences and outcomes vary and are not guaranteed. This program is designed to support parents in understanding their child, their own regulation, and the patterns they bring to their family.

What is the group size?

Twelve participants for this pilot cohort, using more of the center's space and additional facilitators. Small enough for the group to know each other by week three.

How do I know if I am accepted?

Email Sophie with a few sentences about your interest. She will connect back with you to set up a consultation about fit, followed by screening with the licensed facilitation team at Sangam. Enrollment is confirmed after screening.

Apply for the winter 2027 cohort

Twelve spots. Enrollment closes when the cohort fills or on January 8, 2027, whichever comes first, so there is time to complete screening before the group begins.
