Laurel Nook, MA, LPC | Supervisor & Therapist (Arvada, CO)
Laurel is an experienced therapist and clinical supervisor who brings many years of work with children, teens, adults, and families to Rooted Rhythm. She has a warm, creative, and grounded presence and specializes in supporting children and families navigating anxiety, trauma, emotional regulation challenges, life transitions, and disconnection.
Laurel’s work with children is rooted in play and relationship. She incorporates Child-Centered Play Therapy along with art, sandplay, nature, and other creative forms of expression, giving children developmentally appropriate ways to communicate, process experiences, and build confidence. She also works closely with parents, helping caregivers better understand their child’s emotional world while developing practical tools to strengthen connection and support regulation at home.
Her approach draws from Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed approaches, and social-emotional regulation work.
In addition to her clinical work, Laurel is an experienced supervisor who enjoys supporting developing therapists in finding their own clinical voice and growing with confidence and intentionality. Across both therapy and supervision, Laurel brings a balance of depth, warmth, creativity, and playfulness that aligns beautifully with Rooted Rhythm’s relationship-centered approach.
