Emily Taylor, MA, LPCC | Therapist (Denver & Lakewood, CO)
Emily has spent nearly two decades supporting and advocating for children and families within the school setting. She has worked closely with children navigating big emotions, emotional dysregulation, anxiety, ADHD, challenges with self-esteem, life transitions, peer relationships, behavior, grief, and stress.
Emily believes a child’s behavior often communicates a need that hasn’t yet been met. She approaches therapy with authenticity, warmth, curiosity, and a focus on helping clients feel understood while building practical skills they can use in everyday life. Her work draws from Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), particularly their emphasis on recognizing strengths, understanding patterns, developing new skills, and creating meaningful change.
As both a counselor and a mom of two, Emily understands the important role parents and caregivers play in a child’s emotional well-being. She believes connection and trusting relationships are at the heart of meaningful growth and values partnering closely with families so children and parents feel heard, supported, and empowered.
Emily earned her Master of Science in Counseling from Texas A&M University-Commerce and is a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate in Colorado. She also holds a Colorado Special Services Provider license in School Counseling. Outside of work, Emily loves spending time in the mountains and hiking with her husband and two dogs.
