Adrienne Matthews, MEd, LPC-A | Therapist (Dallas, TX)

Adrienne believes meaningful change begins when young people feel seen, heard, understood, and accepted. She creates a warm, supportive space where children and adolescents can express themselves, explore their emotions, and discover their strengths. Her approach is grounded in compassion, connection, and the belief that behavior often communicates needs children may not yet have the words to express.

With over a decade of experience in education and counseling, she brings a strong understanding of the connection between a child’s emotional well-being, relationships, behavior, home life, and experiences at school. Adrienne holds a Master of Education in Counseling and Development from Lamar University and is also a certified school counselor in Texas.

She works with children and adolescents experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, emotional dysregulation, behavioral concerns, relationship challenges, school-related stress, and life transitions. Using a trauma-informed, person-centered approach, Adrienne incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy and solution-focused techniques while tailoring counseling to each young person’s unique needs. She also values collaboration with the important adults in a child’s life, recognizing that consistent support and understanding can help create meaningful, lasting growth.

Prior to her career in education and counseling, Adrienne served in the United States Navy, where working alongside people from diverse backgrounds and life experiences strengthened her appreciation for cultural differences and the unique perspectives each person brings. She also speaks conversational Spanish, supporting connection and communication with Spanish speaking children and families.
