Katie Stonehouse, MA, LPCC | Therapist (Centennial, CO)

Katie creates a warm, playful, and relational therapeutic space where children and families can feel safe, understood, and empowered. She believes that children communicate through play, creativity, movement, and connection, and she partners closely with caregivers to support each child's unique healing journey. Katie is committed to providing an affirming, inclusive space for children, adolescents, and families of all identities, including those exploring LGBTQIA+ identities and experiences.

Katie specializes in working with children, adolescents, and families navigating anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, emotional regulation challenges, neurodivergence, identity exploration, and life transitions. Drawing from Synergetic Play Therapy, attachment-based, somatic, expressive arts, existential, and person-centered approaches, she tailors therapy to meet the unique needs of each child and family. Katie believes that healing occurs within authentic relationships and that every person possesses an innate capacity for growth, resilience, and meaning-making.

Before becoming a therapist, Katie worked as an infant Montessori educator, neonatal photographer, and a family photographer. These experiences cultivated a deep understanding of child development and the importance of nurturing, authentic relationships. Katie earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adams State University and is passionate about continuing her training in Synergetic Play Therapy and other experiential, trauma-informed modalities.

Outside of work, Katie enjoys spending time with her two children, camping, gardening, photography, and exploring the outdoors with her dachshund, Fern.
